Why hello, June! ☀️ It’s game-on time here at the homestead.

We’re diving into big-time gardening, getting the bee yard all set up, and yes — finally hitting the beach for the first time this year. It’s a bit of a juggling act trying to keep up with everything, but hey… there's always room for a little chaos (and learning)!

In this video, I’m taking you along as I move some bees from their nucs into their full-sized hives. It’s one of those big steps in the beekeeping season, and I thought it’d be fun to show you how I do it.

Recipe

If you planted garlic last fall, it’s almost time to trim those scapes — especially if you planted hardneck varieties. When they start curling, you’ll want to snip them off to help the bulbs size up. And here’s a fun way to use them: fry them up! Garlic scapes get tender and crispy in the pan — a garlicky treat that’s perfect on just about anything.
