Preserving season is coming… are you actually ready?

Laura Lawrence

Hi Reader

Every year it happens.

Summer starts off slow and peaceful…

Then suddenly:

🫙 jars are everywhere
🍅 tomatoes are piling up on the counter
🫛 beans won’t stop producing
🥒 zucchini is trying to take over your life
😅 and you’re wondering where all your lids disappeared to

If you preserve food, now is the time to prepare before the chaos hits.

Because scrambling for jars in August? Not fun.

One of my favorite places to stock up on glass canning jars (all sizes), lids, and preserving supplies is Azure Standard.

If you haven’t looked there before, they carry a surprising amount of homestead pantry and preserving supplies—not just food. Use code "NEW15" to receive 15% off your first order of $100 or more. Trust me, in this inflation crazy world we all need it.

👉 Check out Azure Standard here:

For pressure canning, we’ve had good success with an All American Pressure Canner too:

(Not cheap… but quality tools that last matter when you preserve regularly.)

Because preserving season comes whether we’re ready or not.

I’ll be diving into purple podded pole beans, outdoor tomato sauce cooking over the fire, and all the messy preserving fun before long…

More on that soon 😏

So tell me:

What’s the first thing YOU preserve each year?

Laura Lawrence Hi Reader If you've been hanging out with me much at all you'll know how much I love planting garlic and encouraging others to plant as well. If you want to learn how I have a free training lesson that teaches you literally every single step on how to grow, harvest & cure garlic. Learn how HERE. I'm currently awaiting anxiously the sight of my scapes (I grow hardneck) - once they start appearing I'll cut them off and use them in several recipes like my "Poor Man's Pesto" or my...

Laura Lawrence Hi Reader I did something a little crazy… For a limited time, several of my gardening guides are just: 🌱 ONLY $2 each Topics include: 🍅 Tomatoes🥔 Potatoes🧅 Onions🫘 Dry Beans🫛 Pole Beans🥦 Broccoli🎃 Squash…and more Now before you rush over… If you already own my book, Seed to Plate, much of this information is already inside there. 😊 Think of these guides as:✔️ quick references✔️ crop-specific refreshers✔️ an affordable way to focus deeper on one thing you’re struggling with But...

Laura Lawrence From Starter to Artisan Hi Reader Hot take: I’m not feeding my starter three times a day. I have: 🌱 gardens🐑 animals👨👩👧👦 kids🍽️ meals to make…and approximately 47 other things happening Which means my sourdough has to work in real life. I think beginners quit because they’re told sourdough has to be: ❌ exact❌ strict❌ time consuming I disagree. You need enough understanding to make it work. Not fear. Not perfection. Just practical knowledge and confidence. That’s the approach I...
